Outline:
Following a successful pilot as a subject strand, South Essex College has established a Level 3 Fashion Promotion Course with support and advice from Higher Education. Students wishing to specialise in areas of the industry other than fashion design or construction, can now progress into HE in a range of related subjects.
Technical skills appropriate for professional work, are taught and practised in assignments comissioned by employers. Students learn on location – and exhibit in professional settings.
The course offers 3D Graphic and Design workshops, Photography sessions and Styling events. The opportunity to attend to practical workshops led by HE lecturers and to visit HE institutions, helps learners make decisions and establish clear pathways for their future progression.
Further work is underway to create a web-page for information and partner links.
This project will complete in Spring 2010 when a full report will be available in hard copy or as a downloadable version.
