Outline:
This project aimed to promote progression to undergraduate degree-level programmes in Music, Music Technology and Music Business, and raise awareness of the employment opportunities around these areas of study.
Working with its project partners, CCCU tailored its curricula development to create aligned progression routes from the level 3 music courses being run at each of the project partner institutions, and also to match course content to the interests and aspirations of students on each identified progression pathway. Student workshops were held at each project partner's institution, which featured advice and guidance on progression to HE in music, with an introduction to live electronic music performed by the University's 'Contact' ensemble.
The project aimed to raise aspirations, raise awareness of the new work-relevant degree programmes at CCCU, and facilitate a smooth process of progression which sustained students' interest and excitement in music.
The project generated a host of progression agreements from individual level 3 music courses, run by each of the project partners, into CCCU’s BA Music programmes delivered at the Broadstairs campus. Progression statistics reveal an increase in enrolments of students coming via these routes.
