Outline:
Most importantly the project sought to demonstrate that the move from college to university is far from daunting, but rather it is challenging, exciting and achievable.
This programme of innovative and delightful workshops took place within the partner colleges, and at the University Campus in Broadstairs
The aim was to promote progression to undergraduate level programmes in photography, and to raise awareness of the employment opportunities arising from this area of study. The project also sought to forge cross-institutional links, and to raise and sustain learners’ interest and enthusiasm for image making.
New progression pathways have been established with colleges across the Thames Gateway that Canterbury Christ Church University had not previously collaborated with. Learners in other curriculum areas – such as Fashion Promotion, where the application of photographic skills is highly sought after - have also benefitted from these new relationships, and further developments in course design are underway.
