In more detail...
id-East aims to give a boost to young people interested in a career in the world of digital media. It provides an opportunity for students to showcase their work. It gives young people the chance to take part in industry-led master classes and workplace visits. IAG sessions are available to explain the range of media careers and the education and training pathways which will lead to the jobs they want. The Creative Learning Exchange enables on-line interaction with media professionals.
id-East is for young people between the ages of 16-25 who are studying media as part of their coursework at a school or college in the 5-Host Borough area.
Student Challenge
A competition and awards programme designed to spot the very best talent in East London!
Schools and Colleges were invited to submit a piece of digital media work from up to 5 students – to be eligible, the work submitted had to be produced by each student as part of their course work. Work could be from any discipline within digital media but had to provide evidence of each students’ creativity, skill and application.
The closing date for submissions was 6 May 2010. A panel of leading industry practitioners has assessed the work and the awards will be announced at the 2010 id-East Showcase and Awards evening at the Royal Festival Hall on 29 June 2010.
