The proposal for the course structure is as follows:

History of animation and experimental film

Year 2

Visual communication in contemporary moving image
Advanced video post production and editing
Advanced applications in 2d animation
Advanced applications in 3d modeling and animation
Final major project. This exciting and innovative course is being developed in response to the growth of Cultural and Creative industries in London and the Thames Gateway.
Video and Animation covers a range of techniques including stop motion, 2d and 3d animation using traditional and computer technology. Students will be taught 2d and 3d software such as Flash, Bryce and Maya. They will also be shown how to use Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut video editing software. Image manipulation will be carried out using Photoshop.
The emphasis of the course is on visual experimentation, such as that used in music video, computer animation and advertising industries.
BTEC National Diploma or 2 A levels in related Art and Design subjects (120 UCAS points minimum) with GCSE English grade C or higher (or level 2 equivalent in Communication) Mature students with appropriate vocational experience will also be considered. Entry is through UCAS and an interview and a portfolio of art and design work
