This course prepares you for a management career in the arts and cultural industries. It explores how business and management issues relate to a wide range of artistic and cultural activities, such as museums, galleries, heritage attractions, visual and performing arts.

Course structure
For Single Honours you take eight modules at each level. Joint Honours involves four modules at each level in Arts Management, plus four from your other subject. You may also choose a Major/Minor combination after level 1.

Level 1 prepares you for higher education-level study, introducing key topics and helping you to gain an overview of your subject.

Modules include:
Leisure and Tourism Environment
Studying Service Sector Management
Quantitative Analysis for the Creative Industries
Economics for the Service Sector
The Arts and Heritage Sector
Introduction to Marketing

Level 2 increasingly addresses issues that are related to employability or professional practice.
Modules include:
Arts and Events: Theory and Practice
Leisure and Tourism Services Operations Management
Finance for Leisure and Tourism
Arts and Heritage Management
Leisure and Tourism Policy
Organisation and Management

Level 3 further develops skills in problem identification and analysis through a project or equivalent.

Modules include:
Cultural Tourism Management
Arts and Heritage Marketing
Cultural Policy
Museums and Heritage
Research and Dissertation
In addition to the University’s standard entry requirements, you should also have 220 points, including at least 160 from two or more A-levels (or equivalent Level 3 Diplomas and Certificates). English Language and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) are also required. These requirements may be varied. A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed pathways into higher education.
