This is a broad based practical degree for people who enjoy making objects or designing spaces. In the first year you will be introduced to Product Design, Furniture Design, Jewellery Design, Glass, Ceramics, Interior Design, Theatre Design and be taught how to research effectively. In the second year you have the opportunity to specialise in three subjects of your choice and study the software and business skills needed to work as a Professional Designer. During this year you are encouraged to do design commissions, design shows such as (ELDS) East London Design Show and work placements. In the third year you will make a set of work, based around a self-written assignment, focusing on the skills and ideas that have become your strength during the course. You will receive extensive guidance on preparing for either employment or Masters courses after you graduate.
Your course finishes with an exhibition of your work at the student `Free Range' exhibition and at the college.
What will I study?
The course is designed to offer a wide range of skills and expertise that will increase your job opportunities. You will be able to make professional links both locally and across London through visits and work placements. There are also international study trips offered during the course. In the second year you can specialise in three subjects - and in your final year you can choose how many and what subjects you want to work in.

A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more
education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be
considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements
may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed
