Sharing many common themes with our other Graphic Design programmes, this degree gives you the opportunity to enjoy the dynamic environment offered by Cambridge School of Art, and to develop a set of skills much in demand in today's employment market.

Web design is one of the key growth areas in graphic communication, and there is a growing demand for skilled practitioners in this area. This course aims to help meet that demand by producing graduates who have the skills and awareness necessary to take up a range of roles within this field.

Core modules will give you a systematic grounding in the use of XHTML and CSS, hand-coding and the preparation of images for the web, moving image for the web, dynamic content, and the application of web design across a range of professional and commercial contexts. Advanced modules address the requirements of professional web design projects, and explore innovative and radical approaches to web communication.

Elements of this course have been developed in partnership with a number of leading web design houses, ensuring that content is aligned with current industry requirements. Teaching support from practising professionals also helps to maintain a sharp focus on relevant issues.

As with all our Graphic Design courses, the focus of this degree is very much on equipping you with the skills required to succeed within a professional environment.
But you'll also have the opportunity develop your intellectual and creative talents, ensuring that you?ll be able to bring more than just your technical abilities to any role.

This course will clearly be of particular value to anyone wishing to pursue a career in graphic and web design. However, it will also provide a good basis for entry into a range of related fields such as art editorial design, arts marketing and even teaching.
