Course overview
Students study a variety of subjects including writing styles, the role of the journalist in today's society, law and ethics (for example the role of the press in Princess Diana's death, numerous exposés of celebrity scandals and political sleaze, means that the role of the press, its responsibilities and freedoms are constantly in question). They will also produce a range of practical work including websites, articles, photographs and page designs.
Students will also have the opportunity, through the final-year project, to create their own media artefact. Students will improve their academic, practical and intellectual skills during this course and the course prepares them for a wide range of opportunities including employment and postgraduate study/research
