The BA (Hons) in Music Production is designed for students with a background in computer sequencing and sound recording, and with an interest in the application of their creative skills for the commercial production of music. Music Production students have the opportunity to compose and produce music using the specialist facilities of the Broadstairs Campus, which currently include a computer music sequencing suite and two multitrack recording studios. Within the course students will develop to a high level their use of industry standard software, such as Steinberg’s Cubase, Apple’s Logic and Digidesign’s Pro Tools, in the production of music to a professional standard.

Content and StructureAt level one students undertake essential modules in Sound Production and Computer Sequencing, whilst also having the opportunity to choose an optional module in songwriting or the music business.

At level two students develop further their knowledge and skills in sound production, and specifically creative multitrack recording and mixing. At both levels two and three Music Production students have a flexible range of modules to choose from with which to complete their studies, and may choose to continue with computer music or diversify into other areas such as Music and the Internet or Live Sound.
