BA (Hons) Style Futures

University for the Creative Arts
Canterbury, Kent
First Degree
3 Years
www.ucreative.ac.uk
This new course combines the two most important notions within the creative industries: style and futures. Style touches upon every aspect of our lives; from the shape of our shoes to the music on our MP3 player. Futures talks about social, economic, and creative trends and forecasting from cool hunters to environmental consultants for car manufacturers.

You learn how to anticipate and formulate trends using a variety of techniques and media, and to analyse, interpret, and communicate this information to professional audiences across the creative sectors.
You use event management, CAD, D3DD, graphic design, video and music production, web design, contemporary art, fashion, branding and marketing to build a progressive portfolio of conceptual and practical knowledge. You work with the communicative techniques of blogs, social networks, guerrilla stores, and lifestyle battles to innovate the definition of cultural and social 'tribes'. As a graduate you'll fashion the future of style as part of contemporary culture, society, and business.
