The visual backdrop to modern life is generated by specialists in Web Design, Video and Motion Graphics or Graphic Design. We are surrounded by sophisticated screen-based and printed imagery that uses creative methods to communicate, persuade and inform. Consider how many examples of their work you are exposed to in a typical day: the websites do you look at, the adverts you see, the magazines you read, and the videos you watch on television, DVD or online. The most effective examples of these media are produced by experts trained in the technical, functional and creative principles of their disciplines. The creative and cultural industries have a growing demand for their professional skills. The exciting suite of media programmes at the Broadstairs campus has been designed to help you develop these skills.

BA (Hons) Video and Motion GraphicsThe old boundaries between video production, digital imaging, animation and special effects have broken down. Most of the video now being created for TV, DVD or online is heavily post-produced and manipulated, from subtle colour grading, the creation of energetic title animations, the inclusion of sophisticated special effects, computer generated imagery (CGI) and compositing. A growing number of specialists are employed to create video and motion graphics for TV and the web to meet the demands of an expanding industry. BA (Hons) Video and Motion Graphics aims to give students hands-on experience and the technical, functional and creative principles required to produce effective, eye-catching video production, using appropriate contemporary animation and special effects software.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE
At level one students are introduced to underpinning theories, techniques and software that are essential to digital media production.

At level two students study video and motion graphics, focusing on the use of industry-standard motion graphics production and compositing software such as Adobe After Effects and Apple Motion, video-grading software such as Apple Color, and essential techniques such as green screen.

At level three students work on large, industryequivalent projects building upon the specialist skills that they have developed to produce a wide range of video output, from traditional video production to special effects based title sequences, CGI and adverts.
