The BMus is a performance-based degree centred on Principal Study performance/composition taught through individual tuition. The aim of the course is to train high-calibre performers and composers to meet the diverse demands of the music profession. Students will be enabled to work in a range of collaborative artistic settings and will develop skills as leaders and innovators. Principal Study tuition is supported by Performance Projects, Principal Study Support (faculty-based classes), and Complementary Studies.
Erasmus Exchanges
Trinity is an active member of the Socrates Erasmus programme. This enables students to spend their 3rd year studying abroad at a European partner conservatoire or university. The College has agreements with renowned institutions across Europe and the exchange of students enriches both cultural diversity and the musical learning environment.

Grade 8 standard in Principal Study
3 GCSEs (including English Language) at Grade C or above
Two A level passes (of which one should normally be music)
Equivalent qualifications and/or relevant prior experience may be considered

All applicants whose first language is not English are required to have attained one of the following English Language levels or its equivalent:
IELTS Score of 6.0+ in all elements
Trinity Guildhall Grade 10 or higher
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English
TOEFL (Paper-based) Score of 550+
TOEFL (Computer) Score of 213+
TOEFL (Internet TOEFL) Score of 80+
A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more
education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be
considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements
may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed
pathways into higher education.
