Events are both creative and big business and can play a critical role in regeneration. A growing number of events globally, including festivals, conferences and the 2012 Olympics, has created a demand for qualified events professionals.
Canterbury Christ Church University is the ideal place to take an Events Management degree. With 6.3 million visitors a year to Canterbury and an internationally famous cathedral, the city is viewed as the cultural capital of Kent and the events industry is thriving, as demonstrated by the arrival of the Tour de France in Canterbury in 2007. In addition to the annual programme of sport, conference and cultural events including the month-long Canterbury Festival and the Eurofair, there will be a major ‘cultural Olympiad’ events-led programme staged from 2007-12.
