The course develops specialist knowledge and skills in modern communications systems, including networking, modern signal processing and advanced topics in communications. The blend of taught subjects and industrially oriented projects provides you with the necessary, up-to-date knowledge you need to join the fast-moving area of global communications. Networking with commercial and industrial applications is a rapidly expanding area with major skills shortages.
The course aims to develop expertise in these areas and to prepare you to adapt to future changes.
The University has a long and strong history of communications technology courses and is recognised as a CISCO Regional Academy and these links have benefited the MSc course. Communication networks expansion is continuing not only in technologically advanced countries but also in emerging countries and the developing countries.
BEng/BSc first or upper second class degree in a relevant subject such as electronics, communications, mathematics and computing (the latter two with some coverage of communications principles), or industrial experience with proven mathematical skills.

A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more
education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be
considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements
may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed
