This Joint Honours degree gives you the opportunity to specialise in two disciplines, providing you with a greater career choice and a range of highly transferable skills. You explore essential marketing concepts and learn how to apply them effectively. You also develop the skills sought by companies in the record industry, publishing, PR and the new media sector, such as multimedia, internet and broadcasting, as well as the associated service industries.
Course structure
Joint Honours involves four modules from each level in Marketing, and four from Music and Media Management.
Level 1 introduces you to key marketing and music and media management subjects. It also prepares you for higher education-level study, helping you to gain an overview of your subject.

Economics for Business
Introduction to the Music and Media Industries
Studying Marketing and Operations
Data analysis for Tourism, Sport and the Creative Industries
The Internet and Business
Level 2 consists of a more critical, in-depth study of the key topics.
You increasingly address issues that are related to employability or professional practice.
Modules include:
International Marketing
Marketing Communications
Music Industry Management
Marketing
Finance for Leisure and Tourism
Music and Advertising in Television
Global Music and Media Distribution
Level 3 you develop skills in problem identification and analysis through your project.
Modules include:
Marketing Planning and Control
Advertising
Strategic Marketing
Marketing and Public Relations for Music, Media and Events
Music and Media Business Enterprise
Project
In addition to the University’s standard entry requirements, you should also have 220 points, including at least 160 from two or more A-levels (or equivalent Level 3 Diplomas and Certificates). English Language and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) are also required. These requirements may be varied.
Accelerated study
Exemptions from some parts of the course may be possible, depending on your previous academic or work-based qualifications

A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more
education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be
considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements
may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed
pathways into higher education.
