Music Technology at UEL is a practical programme with two main aims:
Provide students with the basis to develop and use complex music technologies for home computer based music production.
Produce people with the necessary skills to work as graduate audio engineers within TV, Video, CD and games audio production.


This programme offers you the chance to:
Develop and improve your skills in computer based music production
Learn how to manage and market your own music production
Use both MAC based and PC based technologies
Get a job as a graduate audio engineer within a media based industry
The admission of applicants to the course is solely at the discretion of the University. The following principles will apply: The minimum entry qualifications for the BSc programmes are 160 UCAS Tariff points (including two GCE or VCE A-Levels or a VCE Double Award of which 1 must be music or Music Technology - AS levels are required) or 10+ points at A/AS Level (for applications who completed their A/AS Levels before Summer 2002); 24 points (Pass) International Baccalaureate (Highers, all at level 4) 65% European Baccalaureate; 50% merits in year 2 of a BTEC National Diploma, relevant Access course or sustained and demonstrable experience in music-making.. Mature students will require substantial experience of the music industry or audio production. Students that apply to enter Level 2 or 3 of the programme may be admitted through normal Accreditation of Experiential Learning (AEL) or Accreditation of Certificated Learning (ACL) processes. A student may not be admitted with credit for more than two-thirds of the total requirement for the award, or half where all such credit is by experiential learning. A Progression Agreement is a formal arrangement between two or more education providers. It spells out what a learner needs to do to be considered for a place on a named programme of study. Progression Agreements may vary in the conditions they specify but they all aim to give guaranteed pathways into higher education.
